Executive Director + Director of Education

Diana Guhin-Wooley

With a Bachelor's degree in Theatre/Music Education from the University of Iowa and an MFA in Music (Vocal Performance) from the University of South Dakota, Diana brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to her role at LAMB.

Diana's journey in education spans over two decades, during which she taught in both public and private school systems. In 1999, she dedicated herself full-time to LAMB, where her commitment to arts education continued to thrive. Diana also served as an adjunct instructor at Briar Cliff and Morningside Universities.

In 2006, LAMB underwent a transformation, transitioning from a subchapter S corporation to a nonprofit organization. Diana took on the role of Executive Director of LAMB in addition to her other responsibilities. She's not only an Iowa Arts Rostered Teaching and Performing Artist but has also graced the stages of the Sioux City Symphony, Siouxland Municipal Band, All America Band, and The American Celebration Duo as a featured artist.Diana's creative talents extend to writing children's musicals, some of which have been brought to life by the LAMB Caravan, a group of student actors who have performed in 7 states since 2010. Her original musical, "THEY CALLED HER BEAUTIFUL," premiered in 2015 as LAMB's holiday show.

As the Director of Education, Diana has played a pivotal role in shaping the love of theatre in young minds, both within public and private school systems and in collaboration with area nonprofit groups.

She has also lent her musical prowess to several CDs, including "though love be a day" (American Celebration Duo, with Richard Steinbach) and "The Music of Marvin Kline I & II" (with Russell Wooley & JoAnn Kots).

Russell James Wooley

Russell's journey in theatre is rich with experience and passion. He holds a Master of Arts in Theatre from the University of South Dakota, where his love for the stage ignited. His journey continued with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre from the same institution.

In 1979, Russell, alongside Diana, embarked on a remarkable journey by founding LAMB Theatre, a creative haven where exceptional theatre takes center stage. With over fifty years of theatre under his belt, Russell's contributions have been nothing short of extraordinary. He's donned multiple hats, having produced and/or directed over 250 productions and graced the stage in more than 150.

Russell's versatility extends beyond the spotlight; he's served as a set and sound designer for countless productions, relishing the intricate world of technical theatre as much as the limelight. As the Artistic/Managing Director of LAMB Theatre, Russell oversees the artistic aspects and general management of the theatre. His dedication extends to nurturing the next generation of thespians, as he imparts his wisdom to high school students and adult classes.

Russell's impact in the world of education has been far-reaching. He's held the role of Adjunct Theatre Professor at institutions like Morningside University, Western Iowa Tech Community College, and the University of South Dakota. His teaching portfolio spans acting and theatre history.

Beyond the classroom, Russell takes on the role of a judge at Regional High School One Act Play Competitions and conducts engaging workshops in acting, directing, and the intricacies of running a theatre.

One of Russell's greatest joys lies in his personal connections with playwrights across the country. He revels in the exhilarating and rewarding process of bringing fresh, vibrant work to the LAMB stage.

Taylor Clemons

Taylor is an Associate Professor and Artistic Director of Theatre and Department Head  of Performing Arts at Morningside University.  He received his Bachelor of Arts from Iowa State University in Performing Arts with a double emphasis in Acting & Directing and Theatrical Design & Production with a minor in Classical Studies.  Then received his Master of Fine Arts with a specialization in Directing from the University of South Dakota.  
 
He has worked as a freelance director, stage manager, and designer for several professional and community theatres across the Midwest.  As an educator, some of Taylor’s teaching and research interests include playwriting/adaptations, stage combat, critical and theoretical examination of the performance of violence on stage, the use of 3D printing and other CNC technology in theatre, and applied language analysis for script and character interpretation.

Brock Bourek

Brock's journey in the world of theatre and arts administration is marked by a genuine enthusiasm for the stage. Armed with a Bachelor of Science in Art Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from Morningside University (Class of 2019), he brings a fresh perspective to LAMB.

Brock became an integral part of the LAMB organization in 2019, taking on the role of Theatre Administrator. His contributions extend beyond the administrative realm, as he's also showcased his acting talents in several productions. Not stopping there, Brock has donned the director's hat for both Box shows and Mainstage productions.

Innovation and community engagement are at the heart of Brock's mission. During LAMB's 44th Season, he introduced "The Page to Stage Play Reading Club," a monthly gathering that captivates LAMB patrons with a diverse selection of plays and musicals, sparking vibrant discussions and connections.

Brock's commitment to education is evident in his role as an adjunct Intro to Theatre instructor at Morningside University since 2024. As the "youngster" on the LAMB staff, he's an active member of the Siouxland Growth Organization, driven by a passion for expanding horizons within LAMB and throughout the Siouxland Community.

Lindsay Washburn

The face behind the voice on the phone, Lindsay Washburn has been involved with local theatre in Sioux City for over 20 years.  She is our first point of contact with our patrons and also works with other staff on our website and different multimedia projects.  Outside of LAMB, Lindsay runs her own social media management company and enjoys travelling with her husband.

Cassie Wooley-Slater

Cassie Wooley Slater, a Sioux City native, stands as a celebrated performer with a remarkable list of achievements. Armed with a BFA in Acting from DePaul University in Chicago, Cassie's journey in the world of theater has been nothing short of extraordinary.

Her talent has earned her accolades, including the coveted Jeff Award for her outstanding performance as Mary in "Merrily We Roll Along," a title that crowned her as the best actress in a musical. Cassie's regional contributions have graced esteemed stages such as Steppenwolf Theatre, Peninsula Players Theatre, The Marriott Theatre, Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Timeline Theatre, and Barrington Stage Co.

Cassie's versatility shines through her ability to originate roles, as she did with Lauren and Judy in "See Rock City and Other Destinations," a production that first captivated audiences at Barrington Stage Company and later at NAMT.

Her artistry extends beyond the stage into the world of concerts, with performances at venues like Lincoln Center, Merkin Concert Hall, Ars Nova, New World Stages, and Joe's Pub. Cassie's exceptional talents also led her to win NYMF's Next Broadway Sensation Competition, culminating in her solo show, "Chimera," which debuted at Joe's Pub in 2009.

In the realm of television, you may have spotted her on "Chicago PD." Cassie's passion for the arts transcends performance; she has served as a dedicated teaching artist for over two decades. Currently in her second year as the Upper School Theatre teacher at Francis W. Parker School in Chicago, Cassie has made significant contributions to early childhood music programs, founded Stomp and Shout Kids, and creatively directed The Sunrise Arts Group in Shanghai, China, for two years.

Notably, she took on the role of interim director of education for Dream Big Performing Arts in Chicago and contributed as an adjunct acting teacher at Roosevelt University. Cassie's multifaceted talents and her commitment to nurturing the next generation of artists make her an invaluable asset to the world of theater and education.

Resident Choreographer, Music Director, + Digital Music Technician

Donny Short

Donny Short stands as a dynamic force in the world of theater, bringing his expertise to multiple facets of the creative process. Armed with an MSE in Instructional Leadership from Wayne State College and a BS in Elementary Education with a Music Concentration from Morningside University, Donny has made a lasting impact on LAMB Theatre for over two decades.

Donny's journey at LAMB began 20 years ago when he took on the role of Resident Choreographer, infusing productions with captivating dance sequences. Over time, his talents expanded to encompass the roles of Music Director and Digital Music Technician, enhancing the musical dimensions of LAMB's productions. As the Director of Musicals, Donny has played a pivotal role in shaping the artistic direction of LAMB's musical performances.

Beyond the theater, Donny's influence extends to education. He has shared his passion for music, piano, voice, and dance with aspiring artists at the LAMB School. Transitioning to the classroom, Donny now contributes to the Sioux City Community Schools as one of the Mathematics Model Classroom teachers. His dedication to education goes further as he also serves as an Adjunct Professor of Elementary Education and an Elementary Education Academic Advisor at Wayne State College.

Donny's journey at LAMB Theatre has not been limited to behind-the-scenes roles. He has graced the stage as a triple threat performer, leaving a lasting impression on LAMB Theatre goers with his memorable theatrical performances.

Donny Short's versatile talents and commitment to both the arts and education make him an invaluable asset to the LAMB community.

Marketing Consultant

Dave Madsen

Dave Madsen brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the world of marketing and communication. Armed with a B.A. and M.A. in Journalism/Mass Communication from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Dave has made a significant impact in both the academic and professional realms.

As an Associate Professor and Department Head of the Department of Multimedia Communication at Morningside University, Dave has not only educated future communicators but has also been a guiding force in the fields of Public Relations, Media Management, TV Production, Media Law, and Media Sales. His dedication to shaping the next generation of communicators extends to his role as the advisor to the university's radio station, KMSC Fusion 93.

Dave's contributions to academia also include co-authoring a research paper published in the August 2023 issue of the journal Teaching Journalism & Mass Communication, titled "Can Local TV Stations Find an Audience for News Among Generation Z and/or Millennials?" This showcases his commitment to exploring the evolving landscape of media consumption.

Before joining Morningside University in 2009, Dave held the position of Public Relations Director for the Siouxland Mental Health Center. With over 30 years of experience in commercial television and radio in Sioux City, Iowa, Kearney, and Omaha, Nebraska, he brings a seasoned perspective to the world of media and communication.

Dave is not only an academic and professional powerhouse but also an active contributor to the Siouxland community. His involvement with various nonprofits and foundations reflects his commitment to making a positive impact. Alongside his wife, Mary, Dave has been a dedicated supporter of LAMB Theatre since 1980, further cementing his passion for the arts and community engagement.
